William Larsen

–

Orem, Utah

Bill left this earthly state for a better place on March 22, 2026. He was born September 10, 1943 in Brigham City, Utah to Clyde Porter Larsen and Nola Barker Larsen. He graduated from Box Elder High School, Utah State University, and earned Graduate Degrees from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Bill served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California Mission 1962-1964. As a student at USU, he joined the ROTC program at the height of the Vietnam War. He served in Vietnam after graduation as a US Army Artillery Officer. He stayed in the Army Reserves for another 24 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

While at USU, Bill was introduced to the love of his life and eternal companion, Lynda Cubbon, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, and a BYU student. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, beginning a wonderful adventure for the next 59 years. They were blessed with five wonderful children: Catherine Larsen Beardall, David William (Cami Walker) Larsen, Anna (David) Rasmussen, Jonathan Joseph (Shelby Madsen) Larsen and Christopher Michael Larsen. They were also blessed with nineteen Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren.

Bill and Lynda were privileged to serve in the Church Educational System of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 35 years, with assignments in Montpelier Idaho, Birmingham, Alabama, Roanoke, Virginia and Orem, Utah. Their goal was to teach and guide their family and students to come unto Christ. During this time Bill served in many church callings: District Presidencies, Stake and District High Councils, Bishoprics, and as Bishop, but his most enjoyable calling was as a teacher. He was a wonderful teacher and impacted the lives of many with his insights and true love of God.

Bill passes into the next life to join his parents Clyde and Nola, a sister Susan (John) Nunley and a grandson, Benjamin Wendell Larsen. To those he leaves behind, he hopes they will remember "I love you with all my heart”.
