Robyn June Pugmire
After a healthy and joyful life and a courageous battle with dementia, Robyn passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026 in Heber City, Utah.
Robyn June Pugmire Stone was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 20,1947 to parents June and Glenn Pugmire. She was the second of six children.
Robyn grew up in Murray, Utah. She was a very responsible daughter and a successful student. She was confident and talented. She received a scholarship to BYU. But after one semester Robyn didn't want to be apart from Ron. They married on March 18,1966 when she was 19 years old.
They were married for 58 years before Ron passed away on January 27,2024. Since that day (1/24/2024), Robyn has longed for only one thing—to be with Ron again.
Robyn loved being a wife, a mom, a grandma and a great grandma. She taught her family that they could do anything! She truly believed that. She never missed a performance, a concert, a game, a church talk, a baptism, or anything her kids, grandkids or great grandkids were involved in.
Robyn loved her family, friends and neighbors and they loved her. Her whole life she was an advocate for good. Her days always started with prayer and who she could help today. She was strong and resilient even when others may tell her ‘no’ she would work to find a way to make the outcome better. Robyn was someone we all wanted on our side. She helped us feel valued and to believe we can be more because we are children of God.
She used her talents to serve her family, her community and her Savior. She had a strong testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and accepted every church calling that was extended to her including; Primary President, Young Women’s President, Primary Teacher, Relief Society Presidency, Mission President (with Ron), Temple Presidency (with Ron), Institute Teacher (with Ron). Robyn lived her testimony through her entire life, leaving her children a map for life, one that leads to happiness and to be together again.
Robyn appreciated the natural beauty all around her. Her children playfully said she was the real Snow White. Every sunrise and sunset was described with gratitude to witness its beauty. She was delighted every time she saw a deer. She loved the birds that came to her bird feeder. She loved her willow tree in her backyard. She loved her cat, Ninja. She loved her horses, her fields, her view of Midway from her deck. Our mother Robyn taught us to slow down and look at the beauty all around us.
The willow tree, the fields, the creek, the mountains, the deer, the cat and the horses continued to be therapeutic for her as she progressed in this disease. She was able to stay home as long as she did because of the assistance of her children and Jerika Webster as her caregiver. As this disease progressed Robyn was moved to the memory care unit at The Covington in Heber City, Utah on May 29, 2026. We want to thank the amazing nurses (Bailey, Tiffany) and CNAs (Melani, Michelle) at The Covington who were so kind and respectful.
Robyn found joy in doing good for others. May we do the same.
She is survived by her children Tami (Matt), Tom (Jen), Lori (Bengt), Lon (Susanna), Keri (Matt), Kristina (Jacob), 23 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and siblings Don and Mark (Laurel).
