Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Robert Emil Berger\n\n\r\n\t\t\t\tROBERT EMIL BERGER\n\nRobert Emil Berger,83, of North Salt Lake, Utah passed away peacefully at his home with all of his family by his side on August 28,2016. \n\nHe was born May 15, 1933 in Salt Lake City to John Frederick Berger and Roxy “Marian” Hilpert. He grew up in Southern California, then served in the United States Navy. After completing his service, he married his lifelong companion, Billie Faye Donathan on September 13, 1957. He graduated from Utah State University in 1960, then moved to Garden Grove, California, where he taught high school mathematics and coached several sports. In 1970, he and his family relocated to Coalville, Utah to open Berger Bros. Hardware with his brother Ron. In 1972, Bob was employed by the Utah State Division of Water Rights, where he would retire in 1991.\n\nBob was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed golf as his favorite hobby. Most of all, his top love was always for his family and his dog Wylee. \n\nHe is survived by his wife Billie, his three children, Michael Berger, Tory Berger, and Sheryl Allred; his older brother Bill Berger, younger sister Nancy Swan; two grandchildren, Sharae and Lance; and three great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Ron Berger. \n\nViewing and funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Foxhill Ward, located in North Salt Lake at 200 S. Eagle Ridge Drive. on Saturday, September 3, 2016. Viewing from 9:30 to 10:30am; Funeral service at 11:00am. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
