Salem, Utah
With hearts full of love and unimaginable sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Roan Fossum (William Roan Fossum), who died on October 15, 2026, at the age of 15, in Salem, Utah.
Roan was born on July 5, 2011, in Provo, Utah to a loving family. Little did we know that when we named him Roan, that he would become one of the most amazing boys and one of the hardest workers, interested in all things in this world. From mountain biking and working with horses to ranching, sports, riding dirt bikes, woodworking, and a love of music, Roan had a wide range of interests and a passion for trying new things. Spending several summers in Oregon ranching with his aunt and uncle only deepened his love of the outdoors and his appreciation for hard work.
In his 15 years, he became a deeply loved part of the lives of his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know him. Although his time here was far too short, Roan's life was so much more than the number of years he lived. His story is one of love, family, friendships, memories, and the countless moments that will forever be treasured by those who knew him.
Roan leaves behind a family who loves him beyond words and whose lives will never be the same without him. They will carry his memory in their hearts, remembering not only the pain of saying goodbye, but also the joy of having known and loved him.
Roan is survived by his loving family. His mother, Cristle Fossum of Mapleton, Utah; his father Embret (Nichole) Fossum of Salem, Utah; his sister, Jackson (Austin) Gibson of Henderson, NV; his brother, Brennon (Tess) Peterson of American Fork, Utah; his brother Jude Fossum; as well as his bonus siblings Kaydence, Quinn, and Braxton Nelson of Salem, Utah. He was also loved by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, niece and countless cousins. Roan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Fossum.
While there are no words that can adequately express the heartbreak of losing Roan, his family hopes he will always be remembered for the life he lived, the love he inspired, and the place he will forever hold in their hearts.
Forever loved. Forever missed. We love you Roan.
Western wear is encouraged to remember Roan.
