Our dearest sweet mother, grandma, great grandma, aunt, cousin and friend, Patricia Duncan Patterson, 70, of Springville, Utah decided on Thursday, February 13, 2020 that she had had enough and passed away peacefully surrounded by family.\n\nPat was born on July 23, 1949 in Provo, Utah to William Kenneth and Gwendolyn Whatcott Duncan. She was the youngest of three children. She grew up in Orem, Utah and graduated from Orem High School in 1967. Pat later went on to get her associates degree in business from Provo Technical College. \n\nPat married Rodney Patterson in 1969. They were later divorced. From this marriage came two of Pat’s greatest blessings, her children, Melissa and Brandon.\n\nPat worked at different jobs during her life. After retiring from Backman Foundry after 20 years she got a part time job as a dispatcher for Parleys PPM where she was currently employed. Pat enjoyed her position and loved the new friends she had made there.\n\nPat was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many callings throughout her life but especially enjoyed her callings in the Relief Society Presidency. She was a great teacher and gave the most amazing lessons.\n\nPat loved sports. Baseball and football were her favorites. She looked forward to Shark Week every year and enjoyed getting together with her family for BBQ’s, reminiscing and her phone calls with Sherie.\n\nPat is survived by her children, Melissa (Brett) Cornelius of Springville, UT, Brandon Patterson of Springville, UT, grandchildren Cassi (Jason) Christensen of Payson, UT, Boudey (MaKayla) Patterson of Springville, UT, Bailey (Jason) Patterson of Springville, UT, Lexie and Whitney Patterson of Provo, UT, great grandchildren, Dusten, Ainsley, Gene and Brock and her best friend of 60 years Carol Dexter Holdaway. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Sherie Kay Hebdon, brother Gary Kenneth Duncan, and her AWESOME grandson, Blake Gene Cornelius.\n\nA visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N. University Avenue, Provo. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, UT.
