Our beloved son, Owen Ethan Bonham returned to his Heavenly Father on March 9th 2023. Owen was born on June 24th 2004 to Ryan and Amy Bonham. He is the first of 6 children. Owen loved his siblings. They were his best friends. His love was expressed by enjoying the activities that his family loved. This included, the beach, boating, hockey, computers, drums, his bird Shasta, skiing, music, body boarding, board games, dodge ball and reading. You could often find Owen asking his siblings to play chess, a computer game, or sharing a video because he learned something new. He learned to love Halloween and rockhounding from spending time with his mother. This led to an enjoyment of scaring people, which seemed to last all year long, and acquiring rocks, crystals and shark teeth through numerous adventures. Owen played hockey with his Dad and brothers. He worked for the last year and half spending long days and eating lunch with his Dad four or five times a week. During these times he learned to love an array restaurants and they would extend lunch hours just talking about anything that would come up. Whenever Owen aspired to something he loved to involve his family. It was during these times that he was truly happy. These joyous memories will not be forgotten.\n\nOwen yearned for perfection in all that he did. He found his weaknesses and worked hard on them successfully converting them into strengths. At age 11 Owen asked to have a private tutor for help in school. He spent all summer happily attending classes while other kids were playing. When school started again, his teacher was shocked at Owen’s tests scores. She had never seen a student’s test score rise so much from the end of the year to the beginning of a new year. From that point on Owen was near the top of every class. Owen enjoyed coding and while he had a few computer courses, he spent much of his time learning and teaching himself numerous coding languages. He worked hard and purchased a $3,000 computer on his own at age 16. He used nearly every day. The strength he developed overcoming his weaknesses, led him to study Chinese and to take a month long tour of Taiwan with his sister Callie. He graduated in May, 2022 from Provo High School at the top of his class and was preparing for a mission that he is now serving with our Savior. \n\nPrior to Owen’s passing he found time to express love for and create special memories with each member of his family. We love our son and cherish the memories that he has given us.\n\nOwen is survived by his parents, Ryan and Amy, his 5 siblings, Alex, Callie, Quinn, Indy and Ruby as well as his grandparents, Brent and Robin Bonham. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Keith and Connie Clayton.
