Nelson Keith Crandell

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nelson Keith Crandell on October 8, 2026. Nelson was the kind of person that filled any room he walked into. Whether it was his large frame, his bright smile, or his jovial nature and big personality, he had a way of sharing his love with all those who knew him. His laugh was contagious. Nelson was fun, quick-witted, loving, smart, and caring. He adored all of his children. He began swimming at a very young age and competed in State-level swim meets in high school. Nelson carried his love for swimming into his career and became a master technician in the swimming pool industry. He loved spending time with his family, playing the drums, cooking, anything to do with science and space, and most recently riding and working on his motorcycle.

Nelson leaves behind a large family who loves him dearly. He is survived by his loving partner, Cortney Crandell; his caring parents, William and Jill Crandell; his cherished siblings, Nathan (Alexandria) Crandell, Melissa (Jacob) Phelps, Janina (Richard) Newman, and Jacob (Cassie) Crandell; and his loved children, Andrew Crandell and Khloee Crandell. He also leaves behind his bonus daughters who he loved like his own: Paydon, Macayla, Madison, and Oaklee Amann, who were part of the family he shared his life with. He is also survived by sixteen nieces and nephews, thirteen aunts and uncles, and many cousins. Nelson was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Albert Keith Crandell and Morris H Nelson; as well as two uncles, Kent Morris Nelson and Leonard Bert Waite; and two aunts, Colleen Crandell and Carol Rasmussen.

Please join us to celebrate Nelson's life. An evening viewing will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, 6:00-8:00 pm MDT at the Nelson Family Mortuary, located at 4780 North University Avenue, Provo, Utah. There will also be a brief viewing on Saturday, October 17, at 8:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 9:00 am at the same location. A live video feed of the funeral will be available on his memorial webpage for those who are unable to attend in person. Burial will be at the Eastlawn Memorial Cemetery.
