Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Marilyn Forrest (Sullivan)\n\r\n\t\t\t\tMarilyn S. Forrest, age 71, of Orem, UT peacefully left this world on November 10, 2015 due to complications from diabetes, vascular infection, heart disease and kidney failure.\nShe was born June 13, 1944 in San Francisco, California to Samuel LaVon Sullivan and Belva Gertrude Terry Sullivan. She and her twin brother, Melvin, were the last of 7 children. She graduated from Roseville Joint Union High School in Roseville, California. She then went on to study at Sierra Junior College in Rocklin, California. Marilyn married Jeffrey Spalding Forrest, of Boston, Massachusetts on November 19, 1966 in the Oakland, California LDS Temple. He preceded her in death.\nShe worked for about 15 years in various locations, including Holiday Inn and Eskaton, a senior assisted living center in Sacramento, California. She retired, and moved to Orem, Utah in order to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. She really enjoyed working with the elderly, and began volunteering as a Senior Companion. She would take clients to do their grocery shopping and doctor appointments, or just spend time with them. She was very grateful for this opportunity and loved it. She also volunteered for about a year at the Orem Public Library. Doing service gave her great joy.\nMarilyn was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings over the years, including primary teacher and librarian. She loved serving the Lord in any way she could, and was an avid reader of the scriptures. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and loved to travel. However, spending time with her family gave her the greatest joy and happiness. The relationships that she had with her children, grandchildren and various family members made her life complete. Though she had many trials and difficulties throughout her lifetime, Marilyn was an example of faith, patience and endurance. She always had a smile on her face and rarely complained even if she was in pain. She brought joy and happiness to everyone who knew her.\nMarilyn is survived by daughter, Patricia D. Zuniga (Ernesto), grandchildren Molly L. Zuniga, Micah F. Zuniga, and Joshua A. Zuniga (all from Orem, UT), brothers - John S. Sullivan (Patricia) (Lincoln, CA), Melvin Sullivan (Pauline) (Concho, AZ), sister – Patricia A. Henshaw (Lehi, UT), and many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey S. Forrest, her son – Jeffrey S. Forrest, Jr. and grandsons – Jeffrey M. Zuniga and Mathew P. Zuniga, her parents, and three brothers – James L. Sullivan, Harold L. Sullivan, and Donald Sullivan. \nThe family would like to thank the nursing staff at Provo Rehabilitation & Nursing, where she was cared for over the past two years. They would also like to extend their great appreciation for the staff and nurses with Tender Care Hospice, especially Jennifer Martinez. We appreciate the dedicated care and service that you offered her. Thanks also to the many friends, family, and ward members who visited with mom and loved her.
