Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Marilyn Davis (Bennion)\n\r\n\t\t\t\tMarilyn Bennion Davis passed away peacefully on December 8, 2016 due to complications from a fall. She was born in Provo, Utah on August 31, 1931, the youngest child and only daughter of Glen Mackay Bennion and Camille Crandall. She grew up in Brigham City, Utah, attended and graduated from Brigham Young University, married Troy M. Miller on September 6, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple, and together they had four children. After divorce she moved to Provo to work for First Security Bank. She married Ray Jay Davis on August 19, 1980 in the Provo LDS Temple. Ray passed away in 2000, and she looked forward to being reunited with him.\n\nMarilyn will be fondly remembered for her gathering spirit, her kindness, and her lifelong love of culture, art, and travel. In particular, she enjoyed quilting with friends and was a member of the Utah Valley Quilt Guild. She was a bank manager and trust officer for First Security Bank, was dedicated to her family, and served in many church positions throughout her life. She was a proud winner of honors for her cherry pie in a state competition and for her quilts in the Springville Art Museum Quilt Show. Her home was always a gathering place for friends and family.\n\nMarilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray Jay, brother Robert G. Bennion, and stepdaughter Rosina Davis. She is survived by her brother Paul C. Bennion, children Juli (Scott) Earl, Ben (Roxanne) Miller, Scott (Judy) Miller, and Lisa (Dave) Creer, as well as step-children Doug (Jodi) Davis, Quin (Hillary) Davis, and Stan Davis, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. \n\nFuneral services will be held at 12p.m. on Tuesday, December 20th, at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N. University Avenue, Provo with a viewing preceding from 10:30 to 11:30. An additional viewing will be held the evening prior from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, December 19th at Nelson Family Mortuary.
