Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Lorine Goodwin (Swainston)\n\r\n\t\t\t\tLorine Swainston Goodwin passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband and children on August 26, 2016. Born August 22, 1925 in Preston, Idaho to Bertram Harold Swainston and Myrtle L. Campbell.\nShe attended elementary in Winder and graduated from high school in Preston, Idaho. She received a B.S. in Pharmacology from the University of Idaho in Pocatello in 1947. She worked for many years as a Pharmacist. Once her children were raised she returned to school earning history degrees, Bachelors from the University of Utah, A Masters Degree from BYU and her PHd from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1991. She was a noted author and historian, and had a lifetime passion for genealogy.\n\nLorine was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. She and her husband Ray served as Temple missionaries in the Chicago and St. Louis Temples for 18 years.\n\nShe married Samuel Ray Goodwin November 1, 1946 in Preston, Idaho and it was later solemnized for time and all eternity at the Salt Lake City Temple. She is survived by her Husband and five children: Samuel R (Susan), Robert H. (Sharon), Pamela L Salmond (Brad), Bret (Tonya), and Michael A. (Donna). She has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her four sisters: Norma Peterborg (Ray), Margaret Loosle (Darrell K.), Rosa Moosman, and Corliss Payne (Bryce). She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Bertram H. Swainston.\n\nWe would like to thank the Sunrise Hospice for the care for her.\n\nFuneral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 11a.m. in the Parkway LDS 3rd Ward, 3110 West 1390 North, Provo, with a one hour viewing prior to services. An additional evening viewing will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 6-8p.m. at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N. University ave. Provo. Interment will be held in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
