Linda Marjorie Martin, a beacon of compassion and creativity, passed into the next life on May 26, 2026. Born on September 27, 1943, in Canandaigua, New York, Linda lived a vibrant life that touched countless hearts in her 82 years. She enriched the lives of all she knew with her boundless love, her unwavering dedication, and her spirited zest for life that was infectious to one and all.
Linda was a loving and dedicated wife to her husband Ron Martin since their marriage on June 10, 1963. Together, they embarked on a journey that saw them making homes across America and even overseas in England and France. No matter where she resided, Linda's warm heart and creative spirit were constants. She effortlessly turned every house into a home, pouring her love into her cooking and baking, sewing beautiful pieces, and capturing memories through her passion for photography. Her love for literature led her to preside over the Etienne Literary Club, and her commitment to her faith saw her serve in various capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a Boston temple historian, a ward and stake Relief Society president, a ward and stake Young Women’s president, a Primary President, and a missionary in the translation department at LDS church headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, she embodied the scripture, "When ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." (Mosiah 2:17)
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Martin, their children Eric Martin, Jillian Campbell, Erin Peterson, Andrew Martin, and Ashley Phipps, as well as their beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 10:30 am MDT at the Nelson Family Mortuary, located at 4780 North University Avenue, Provo, Utah, 84604. The service will also be live-streamed at https://my.gather.app/remember/linda-martin-2026 for those who cannot attend in person.
