Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Lawhaii Singh Johal (Hundal)\n\r\n\t\t\t\tLawhaii Singh Johal, born July 25, 1922 in Los Angeles, CA, passed on to the heavens the morning of May 18, 2016 in Provo, Utah, where she died at home of congestive heart failure after a brief stay in the hospital. \n\nLawhaii is survived by her 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, along with many beloved nieces and nephews: Lashman Singh Johal of Rialto, CA; Sushila Ravard (Robert) of Ocean Shores, WA; Lakshmi Johal-Dominguez (David) of Orem, UT; Rajpal Singh Johal (Nina) of Bellevue, WA; Amarjit Singh Johal (Terri) of Fontana, CA. \n\nLawhaii attended Hollywood High School, graduating in the summer of 1942. During Hollywood’s glory days she was a member of the Junior Screen Actors Guild; met many celebrities and had roles in the movies, including “Too Many Girls” with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and “South of Pago Pago” with Jon Hall and Frances Farmer. \n\nShe attended the University of Washington, but WWII and family illness took her in another direction. She married Karnail Singh Johal on April 26, 1946 and her love story lasted 50 years and took her around the world! \nWe will miss our Mom, Grandma, Bisabuela, Matriarch, Linguist, Family Historian, Teacher, Friend, Encourager, Lover of Music. We will all miss receiving her beautiful handwritten letters in the mail.\n\nThere will be a private cremation and a future Memorial celebration. In lieu of flowers, please “Pay It Forward” in Lawhaii’s honor and offer charity to someone in need.
