Kay Bryson

–

Orem, Utah

Carlyle "Kay" Bryson, a loving husband, dedicated father, and respected Utah County Attorney, passed away on May 20, 2025. Born on September 9, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Kay was a man of wit, ambition, and deep love for his family and faith. His life was a testament to his devotion to both his professional calling and his personal relationships. Kay always loved learning, from law to historical events to languages, Kay was fluent in English, Mandarin, French and Tahitian. His radiant smile and sparkling humor made him a joy to be around, even as his legal acumen and relentless dedication earned him the respect of his peers.

Kay's life was a journey that spanned the globe. From his mission in Tahiti to his years in Hayward, Monterey, San Diego, Indiana, Taiwan, Payson and countless other adventurous places, he embraced every new experience with an open heart and a curious mind. However, it was in Orem, Utah, where he found his true home, serving as County Attorney for four memorable terms. Yet, Kay's most cherished accomplishment was his marriage to Claudia. The two were sealed in the Provo City Center Temple on July 16, 2019, and spent their golden years traveling and enjoying life together. His dedication to Claudia was a love story that inspired all who knew them.

A sports enthusiast, particularly basketball, Kay's love for the game was infectious, he loved cheering on the Utah Jazz. Kay also loved his red Corvette, he would say "if it's not red, it's not a Corvette!" His passion for law was equally evident, serving with unyielding commitment for 25 years before his retirement in 2007. Kay leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication.

He is survived by his eternal sweetheart Claudia Bryson, Kay's children Lisa, Scott, Chris, Alana, Jennifer and David, along with their spouses and Kay's grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Bryson and Dorothy Larson.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, at 5-7pm MDT at the Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 North University Avenue, Provo, Utah, 84604.
