Judith Selle

–

Santaquin, Utah

Judith Lynn Selle, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by people who loved her on October 19, 2026.

Born August 10, 1945, in Columbia, South Carolina to Eldred and Leora Olson, Judi lived much of her childhood in eastern Idaho. She was proud of being an Idahoan and lived up to the sacrifices of her pioneer heritage.

Judi attended Ricks College after graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1963. At Ricks she studied fashion design with the intention of working in the fashion industry. She was an adept seamstress her entire life, taking great joy spending time at her sewing machine even days before she passed.

At Ricks, Judi met the love of her life, Fred Selle. Judi and Fred married on January 6, 1968, in Idaho Falls on the same day Fred received his induction notice to serve in the US Army. Shortly after their wedding the two moved to the Boston area briefly before the Army sent Fred to Turkey for a year, and Judi moved back to her beloved Idaho.

After Fred’s posting in Turkey, Judi joined him in Germany where they lived in a small Bavarian village as Fred finished his military service. Judi became a mother in Germany a few months before she and Fred returned to the United States with their son.

Their small family lived in Logan, Utah for the next few years as Fred finished his education at Utah State University. There they welcomed their second child. Following Fred’s graduation, the growing family moved to LaGrande, Oregon, where they welcomed their third child.

Over the next several years, the family lived in Walla Walla, Washington and Valdez, Alaska, eventually settling in the quaint Seattle suburb of Brier. Regardless of location, Judi always served her community, church, and made life-long friends.

In Brier, Judi cared for and launched her three children. Being a mother was her greatest desire and joy. A crowning event of her life occurred July 21, 1990, when she and Fred were sealed in the Seattle Temple as husband and wife for eternity, along with her children.

In Seattle Judi also went back to work outside the home, working as a bank teller and eventually retired from Wells Fargo.

After more than twenty years in Washington, Judi and Fred moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Again, Judi’s infectious smile and warm personality gained her wonderful friends. Eventually leaving Las Vegas, the couple made their final move to Santaquin, Utah where they spent their final years together, close to friends and family.

Judi was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, daughter, grandmother, friend, and disciple of Jesus Christ. A life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she diligently ministered to others and served in many capacities and callings. In her gentle way she lifted and helped others see their worth as children of loving Heavenly Parents.

Judi is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister. Judi’s brother, sister, children, grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, numerous extended family members, and hundreds of friends will miss her love, laughter, and hand-written cards.

We love and will miss you Judi.
