Judith Davison

–

Springville, Utah

Judith Ann Westenskow Davison, 82, of Springville, Utah passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2022. Judy was born April 24, 1940 in La Grande, Oregon to Melvin and Rowena Westenskow. She graduated from La Grande High School with the class of 1958 and attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Judy taught various grades in Elementary school from 1963-1997 teaching in Oregon, Idaho, and Utah.

On March 18, 1963, Judy married James Lawrence Davison (Jim) in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and they had three children: Dean, Denette, and Heather. Jim and Judy raised their children in Eastern Oregon, where they taught them to work hard and serve often. Judy had many positions within the church where she led women's and youth organizations; she and Jim also served as ordinance workers in the Portland Oregon Temple and the Provo Utah Temple. Most importantly, she ministered to those in her community as best she could.

Throughout her life, Judy had a deep love for music. She was a beautiful pianist and vocalist. In her youth, she sang in many women's groups that performed at civic and religious events. She lost her vocal range in early 2000’s when she spent 5 months in the hospital with a tracheotomy, recovering from complications of colon cancer, but that didn’t stop her from trying to sing. Her grandchildren have great memories of her singing to them with the 3-5 note range she’s had these past 20 years. As she grew older, she still loved to wheel her chair up to the piano and play, but loved even more to hear her grandchildren sing and play their various musical instruments in her home.

Judith is survived by her three children: Dean (Lezlea) Davison, Denette (Jeffrey) Dabling, Heather (Kelly) Harrington, her 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren with one more arriving very soon.

Judy is happily reuniting with those who preceded her in death: husband James Davison, her parents Melvin and Rowena Westenskow, and all five of her siblings: Duane, Ken, Marilou, Loren and Marcia. Family has always been very important to Judy and she has many cherished family relationships. Coming from a large family, she has also enjoyed the title of "Sister-in-Law", "Cousin", "Aunt" and loves everyone in those relationships as well.

We would like to thank her loving neighbors and friends for the thousands of hours of service in the form of rides, meals, visits, phone calls, and smiles; allowing Judy to be able to stay in her home among her beloved friends. We would also like to thank her doctors, nurses, and dialysis techs that have helped her survive nearly a decade on dialysis all while helping her feel loved.
