Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Jose C Delgado\n\r\n\t\t\t\tOur beloved father SFC Jose C. Delgado has passed away. He was 86 and being loved and well taken care of while residing at the Central Utah Veterans Home in Payson, Utah. He was reunited with his sweetheart Carmen on August 27, 2016 at 11:00 am. \n\nHe peacefully departed while surrounded by the love of his daughter Jacquie, his son in law Lui Aveytua, his grandson Djosen, the tender care of his nurses Kathy, Laura, and Becky, and although not present the love of his daughter Camilin, grandsons: Djairo (Sarah) and Jean Carlos (Grissel) and granddaughters: Tzeitel (Parker), Kiara (Paulo). \n\nBorn on August 17, 1930 in Humacao, Puerto Rico to Carmelo Delgado Figueroa and Cecilia Delgado Santiago. Loved by his brothers and sisters: Carmen Iris, Luz Maria, Efrain, Saul, Reynaldo, Luis, Angel, Sigfrido, Sonia, Nelson, and Dinorah.\n\nHe joined the United States ARMY in 1948 and served for 22 years until he retired in 1970 after seeing combat in the Korean and the Vietnam conflicts. During the Korean War he served in the 65th Infantry Division for which service he was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal.\n\nHe married Carmen on November 21, 1950 in Humacao, Puerto Rico and set off to have many adventures in places as far as Panama and Hawaii.\n\nAlthough young in age his great-grandchildren Jaden, Jabdiel, Hunter, Logan, Laila, Tzporah, and Karrie will miss him until we all can be reunited as an eternal family.\n\nFaithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved his Humacao LDS Ward where he served in different capacities and fulfilled his callings with military precision. Jose spent his last weeks on this earth in hallowed grounds at the Central Utah VA Home in Payson surrounded, cared for, and loved by angels. Words come short. Thank you Silvia, an angel amongst angels.\n\nFuneral services will be held in Puerto Rico and bid farewell with Military Honors in the Humacao, Cemetery in Puerto Rico.\n\nWe will miss his jokes and laughter, his harmonica music (he only knew one tune) and his love for all his family members. \n\nWe love you dad! God be with you 'til we meet again! \nEnjoy this time with Mom because when is our turn she will be all ours.\nTe amamos y extrañamos Papi!
