Johnna Sylvia Sieling Edsberg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, died June 29th, 2021 surrounded by love, laughter, music, and tales of days gone by.\n\nJohnna was born July 10th, 1946 in Copenhagen, Denmark to parents Thorvald and Ellen Sieling. She spent her youth honing her natural talents as a pianist, thereby earning her acceptance to The Royal Danish Academy of Music. It was during this time that she would meet the love of her life and begin a 55 year journey with her surviving husband and best friend, Soren Edsberg. After traveling the world together and bringing 7 children into it, she found her way back to school to nurture her knack for creative writing. Her sense of adventure and never-ending search for knowledge molded her into a force for love, kindness and generosity. She embraced diversity, was an advocate for adoption, a defender of the LGBTQIA community, a supporter of the arts, an advocate for women’s equality, and believed in living your own truth.\n\nJohnna loved to share her good fortune and classic style with others. ‘Johnna Couture’ was enjoyed by all those with whom she offered her latest and greatest fashion finds. Her generous nature knew no bounds. She opened her home, her heart, and her loving spirit to those that needed it. \n\nThese are a few of her favorite things🎶: Traveling and long drives with her Elskede Søren, Denmark, the ocean, telling her grandchildren stories, her forever friends Pia and the Tofts, Clinique and a good skincare regimen, shopping, Jule Aften, Diet Coke, Spanish guitar, butterflies, Magasin, cooking for her family, celebrating the little things in a big way, and helping you find the hidden strength in yourself to face anything.\n\nJohnna was preceded in death by her parents and sister Linda. She is survived by her husband Soren Edsberg, sisters Gerti and Inger-Margrethe, and by her 7 adoring children and their spouses (David and Kamme (Gordon) Edsberg, Eva (Edsberg) and Allen Nelson, Thomas Edsberg, Sarah (Edsberg) and Eric Sweeten, Camilla (Edsberg) and Thomas Fowler, Hannah (Edsberg) and Chris Ryan, and Michael and Laurie (Ketchum) Edsberg). Her 15 grandchildren (Brieanna, Johnathan, Mackenzie, Maegen (husband Nate), Sidney, Callie, Malena, Nickolai, Magnus, Henry, Charlie, Abi, Gabriel, Joshua and Isaac) will miss her enchanted and creative stories and the abundant Hygge that always came from spending time with her.\n\nA private service will be held for the family.\nJohnna would have wanted any flowers to be sent to someone who could use some cheering up.
