Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Janis McClurg (Jensen)\n\n\r\n\t\t\t\tJanis Jensen McClurg, transitioned peacefully at home on Saturday evening May 12th, 2018 surrounded by family after many years of disciplined pain and illness.\n\nShe was born in Logan, UT on September 20, 1933 to Hugh and Thelma. Her younger sister Glenna followed two years later.\n\nGrowing up she lived in many different places since her father was in road construction. She, consequently, attended many different schools in places such as Moreland and Riverside Idaho and graduated from Blackfoot High School where she met and was friends with Lynn. They were married on September 1, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple.\n\nThey lived a life of adventure in faraway lands while serving in the United States Air Force. She was a brave lady, taking a ship to Japan when newly married, and even braver when she took her 4 little boys, while 7 months pregnant with their daughter, to live in Tripoli, Libya. The Air Force would take them many places where they served their church and made many friends who remain friends to this day. Her church service included among other positions, time as a Relief Society President, temple worker, and missionary. Janis was a woman of faith, and demonstrated that faith in the way she loved those around her. She was renowned for remembering birthdays and other special days of those she loved so dearly. \n\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest son, Robert. She is survived by her loving husband, Lynn, who has been her caregiver for over 18 years, and her children John, Jim, Ladd and Wyn. She is adored by 33 grand and great-grandchildren and an adopted Aunt to many. \n\nFamily Visitation will be held Friday evening May 18th, 7-8:30 pm and at 10am-10:45am Saturday morning, May 19th, at the Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N. University Ave., Provo, with a Memorial service to follow on Saturday at 11:00am.
