James Patrick “Jamie” McLean passed peacefully at his home in Park City, Utah, on November 9, 2022, with his beloved wife Elisa at his side. He was 49 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael McLean of Bigfork, MT. He is survived by his wife, Elisa Fryer McLean, of Park City, children, Kendal Elisabeth Bernard and Bryce Robert Bernard, his mother, Julie Bealle McLean of Naperville, IL, his brother, Josh McLean (Teresa Alagna) and nephew, Ethan James McLean, of Chicago, IL.\n \nJamie was born in 1973 in Duarte, California. He moved with his family from California to Naperville, IL and graduated from Naperville Central High School in 1992. He played Division 1 college volleyball, was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University in 1997. After college he moved to Chicago, where he began a successful career in the insurance industry. He spent his entire professional career in the insurance industry, establishing a national client base and often serving as a mentor to younger colleagues.\n \nJamie met Elisa, the love of his life, in 2007 in Chicago. They were married on November 25, 2011. They resided in Burr Ridge, IL and then Park City, UT.\n \nJamie was a man of many interests. He was an avid golfer, snowboarder and Los Angeles Dodgers fan. He was a sports car enthusiast and enjoyed attending IndyCar and Formula One races. He treasured time with his family and friends at sporting events and concerts. He cherished his summer trips to Montana with his family, and, after moving to Utah, hikes in the mountains surrounding Park City with Elisa and their dog, Bruno.\n \nJamie will be remembered by his family and his many friends as an unassuming man with a quick wit and a dry, irreverent sense of humor. He engaged people with his warmth and charm and developed deep, lifelong friendships. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.\n \nIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Huntsman Cancer Foundation or other cancer research charities. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
