With great sadness in our hearts we announce that on July 23rd, 2020 our beloved Papá Dalthi, Gidalthi Ornán Ojeda Delgado passed away and crossed the veil. He has reunited with his beloved son Jose Santos Ojeda and daughter Milka Ojeda, with his parents Jose Santos and Dora Ojeda and his brother Jose Alberto Ojeda. We have the knowledge and certainty that we will reunite, hug him again and rejoice in the near future. GIDALTHI ORNAN OJEDA DELGADO Oct 12th, 1937 – Jul 23rd, 2020 At 7:20 in the morning on July 23rd, 2020 our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Granduncle and friend, Gidalthi Ornán Ojeda Delgado, age 82 peacefully passed away from us. He was born to Jose Santos Ojeda Fuentes and Dora Delgado Alvarez on a spring day of October 12th, 1937 in the city of Arequipa, Perú. He lived there with his parents and siblings for his entire childhood and part of his youth. As a child and teenager he was a really dedicated student, he enjoyed playing with spinning tops, marbles and handmade toys that he built, a beloved brother to his siblings Juan, Ruth, Dora, Maritza and Eleana, always showing respect and love for his parents and siblings, showing his calm spirit since his early years. As a young adult he moved to the city of Cusco to study Civil Engineering at Universidad Abad del Cusco, graduating with honors in structural design and anti-seismic structures, during his College days he was the only member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the city of Cusco, also dedicating his time to help with missionary work, he became LDS branch president and was the first ordained Priest by President Sharp on July 22nd 1962. After graduating he moved to Lima, where he started working in his professional career, he became the first Church Offices employee for the LDS Church in Peru, where he developed a lifetime career building LDS Chapels and Church buildings throughout Latin America. Later in his career he decided to start his own Construction Company, building government construction projects, private housing and due to his well knowledge of anti-seismic structure was part of many missions to investigate, study and assessed after an earthquake had happened throughout Latin America. He married Gladys Salazar (former spouse) and had five children and 19 grandchildren, Jose Santos (late) (Viviana), Gidalthi jr, Milka (late), Suld-Sireth (Daniel) and Zuleyth (Shea), raising and teaching them the gospel by example and the meaning of a true Christ like life. His grandchildren Jose Santos jr, Tyler, Dominic, Said, Nabil, Farid, Amaia, Ricardo, Naomi, Joaquin, Sebastian, Diego, Alonso, Piero, Zedakaiah, Thiago, Azaryah, Bianca and baby Samarah always referred to him as Papa Dalthi or Papi receiving unconditional love from him. He is also survived by Preston Pickett with whom he developed a meaningful and respectful friendship. He loved building from scratch and flying his own Airplane Models, fishing, collecting marbles from different parts of the world, collecting rare precious rocks and gardening, his favorite being growing orchids. He lived a life dedicated to the service to God’s work and was so thrilled when he was called spiritually and professionally to supervised and help on the construction of the Temple in Guayaquil, Ecuador; his most gratifying spiritually and professionally experienced as he usually called it. We love you deeply Papi/Papa Dalthi and we will miss you greatly and are most certain we will meet soon. Se ha reunido con su amado hijo José Santos Ojeda y su hija Milka Ojeda, con sus padres José Santos y Dora Ojeda y su hermano José Alberto Ojeda. Tenemos el conocimiento y la certeza de que nos reuniremos, lo abrazaremos nuevamente y nos regocijaremos en el futuro cercano. GIDALTHI ORNAN OJEDA DELGADO 12 de Octubre de 1937 - 23 de Julio del 2020 A las 7:20 de la mañana del 23 de Julio del 2020, nuestro querido padre, abuelo, hermano, tío, tío abuelo y amigo, Gidalthi Ornán Ojeda Delgado, de 82 años, falleció pacíficamente. Nació de José Santos Ojeda Fuentes y Dora Delgado Álvarez en un día primaveral del 12 de octubre de 1937 en la ciudad de Arequipa, Perú. Vivió allí con sus padres y hermanos durante toda su infancia y parte de su juventud. De niño y adolescente, era un estudiante realmente dedicado, disfrutaba jugando con trompos, canicas y juguetes hechos a mano por el mismo, un hermano querido por sus hermanos Juan, Ruth, Dora, Maritza y Eleana, siempre mostrando respeto y amor por su padres y hermanos, mostrando su espíritu tranquilo desde su niñez. De joven se mudó a la ciudad del Cusco para estudiar Ingeniería Civil en la Universidad Abad del Cusco, graduándose con honores en diseño estructural y estructuras antisísmicas, durante sus días como universitario fue el único miembro de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días en la ciudad del Cusco, también dedicó su tiempo a ayudar con el trabajo misional, se convirtió en Presidente de la primera Rama SUD y fue el primer sacerdote ordenado por el presidente Sharp el 22 de julio de 1962 en dicha ciudad. Después de graduarse, se mudó a Lima, donde comenzó a trabajar en su carrera profesional, se convirtió en el primer empleado de las Oficinas de la Iglesia SUD en Perú, donde desarrolló una carrera de vida construyendo Capillas SUD y edificios de la Iglesia en toda América Latina. Más adelante en su carrera, decidió comenzar su propia compañía constructora, construyendo además proyectos gubernamentales, viviendas privadas y, debido a su buen conocimiento de la estructura antisísmica, fue parte de muchas misiones para investigar, estudiar y evaluar causas y efectos después de haber ocurrido algún sismo para América Latina. Se casó con Gladys Salazar (ex esposa) y tuvo cinco hijos y 19 nietos, José Santos (fallecido) (Viviana), Gidalthi jr., Milka (fallecida), Suld-Sireth (Daniel) y Zuleyth (Shea), criándolos y enseñándoles el Evangelio con el ejemplo y el significado de vivir una vida basada en Cristo. Sus nietos José Santos jr., Tyler, Dominic, Said, Nabil, Farid, Amaia, Ricardo, Naomi, Joaquín, Sebastián, Diego, Alonso, Piero, Zedakaiah, Thiago, Azaryah, Bianca y bebé Samarah siempre se refirieron a él como Papa Dalthi o Papi, recibiendo amor incondicional por parte de él. También le sobrevive Preston Pickett con quien desarrolló una amistad significativa y respetuosa. Le encantaba construir desde cero y volar sus propios aviones de aeromodelismo, escribir poesía, pescar, recolectar canicas de diferentes partes del mundo, recolectar rocas preciosas y jardinería, siendo su favorita el cultivo de orquídeas. Vivió una vida dedicada al servicio de la obra de Dios y se emocionó mucho cuando fue llamado espiritual y profesionalmente para supervisar y ayudar en la construcción del Templo de Guayaquil, Ecuador; su experiencia espiritual y profesional más gratificante como solía decirlo. Te amamos profundamente Papi / Papa Dalthi y te extrañaremos mucho y estamos seguros que nos veremos pronto.
