Midway, Utah
Our wonderful husband, father, brother, friend, and fishing boat captain has completed his final project on this earth! He was born on December 19th, 1951 to Rex Dean Kohler and Mable Duke Kohler Cummings Lassen. He married his sweetheart, Susan Webb, on June 17th, 1972. He peacefully passed away on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He’s been called up to help with what the Lord has asked of him. Everyone who ever met or worked with Gary loved him and he was such a wonderful friend, mentor, and someone who was always there with tools in hand willing to help or to give some guidance or advice. Gary lived a life defined by integrity, kindness, and hard work. Throughout his life, he exemplified perseverance and taught each of his children the true meaning of work ethics. He loved his job building beautiful homes or whatever he could build with wood. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he also loved to fish and hunt, or spend anytime in the mountains, and especially loved his early mornings on the lake with his sweetie.
He is survived by his wife, his children, Reggie Kohler (Dana), Jeremy Kohler (Lynett), Karee Nicholson (Bryan) and 5 grandkids, siblings, Vance Kohler, Kevin Kohler, Jolyn Hulse, and Brett Cummings. Preceded in death by his parents, and younger brother, Mark.
Graveside service will be held Monday, April 29th, at 12:00 P.M. at the Midway Cemetery located at 770 West 500 South in Midway, Utah. At Gary’s request, please dress in casual attire! In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Horse of Many Colors.
