Frank J Kimber Jr.

–

Orem, Utah

Frank J Kimber Jr., of Orem, Utah, passed away on July 27, 2024, at the age of 70, after a brief illness. At his passing, Frank was surrounded by his loving wife Yvonne and three generations of family.

Frank was born on September 9, 1953, in Provo, Utah, to Frank Jay and Gloria (Fillmore) Kimber. He was the only boy among four children. Sisters Gloria and Judy were from Gloria’s previous marriage, while Frank and Suzette were born to Frank Jay and Gloria. Frank grew up in Orem, Utah, and lived in his present neighborhood for the past 60 years.

In December of 1971, Frank married Michele (Olsen) Hutchinson. Shortly after their marriage, Frank enlisted in the Armed Services, spending the next three years stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, and then on an overseas tour in Giessen, Germany. During their time together, the couple had four amazing children: Travis Keith Kimber, Tiffiney Jean Kimber, Stacy Leigh Kimber Beaulieu, and Frank Justin Kimber. Upon completing his military duty, the family returned to Utah. Frank and Michele later divorced in 1980.

In the summer of 1981, Frank met Shelly Spencer, and they were married in December of 1982. Shelly brought three beautiful children to the marriage: Colleen Carson, Shane Carson, and James Carson. Together, they had one more wonderful daughter, Samantha Kimber Clark. Frank and Shelly later divorced in 1991.

A few years later, on December 7, 1997, Frank married the love of his life, Yvonne (Kennedy) Kimber, and they remained together until his passing.

Frank was a trusted and talented mechanic for many in the Utah County area. He founded and owned Frank’s Lakeside Service, located on West Center Street in Provo, Utah. Many who lacked adequate funds found their invoices significantly discounted or nonexistent, a testament to Frank’s generous heart. Frank was shy by nature, leading to relationships that formed slowly but lasted forever. The Kimber family cherished family fun and adventure, regularly camping at Cherry Creek and the sand dunes.

In retirement, Frank and Yvonne enjoyed their lovely home in Overton, Nevada, spending time improving the landscape and maintaining the home. They frequently visited the swap meet in Las Vegas, primarily just to buy peanuts and creating many cherished memories along the way.

Frank would not be pleased if his dogs Lucas and Leah, Teddy and Bear were not mentioned in his obituary. These dogs were great companions to Frank and, although noisy, provided great comfort.

Frank was a homebody who enjoyed his home, tinkering in his garage, spending time with his family, ranger rides with his grandkids and sitting on the front porch with the love of his life and loyal dogs by his side.

Frank is survived by his wife, Yvonne, and children: Travis Keith Kimber (Debbie), Tiffiney Jean Kimber (Steve), Stacy Leigh Kimber Beaulieu, Frank Justin Kimber (Kacie), Samantha Kimber Clark (Tommy); 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
