On Saturday, March 27, 2021, Ezequiel Gonzalez, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 69.\n\nEzequiel was born on November 8, 1951 in Monterrey Mexico to Fortunato and Celia Gonzalez. He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University in Provo Utah in 1985 and he worked for the Utah Department of Transportation for 35 years in Salt Lake City. On August 14, 1976, he was sealed to his sweetheart Rosalva Chavez for time and eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Together they raised three daughters and three sons. \n\nEzequiel had a passion for gardening and he enjoyed sharing his harvest with friends and family. He also loved to play the piano and served for years as a pianist in church among many other church callings. He had a big sweet tooth and taught himself to bake desserts which he also shared with coworkers and friends.He was known for his dedication to hard work, his kind and compassionate spirit and his goofy dad jokes. He had a calm and gentle demeanor and was always eager to serve and help others. His patience and ambition is a quality that we admire in him, he was a great example to us and is already terribly missed. \n\nHe was preceded in death by his father, Fortunato. He is survived by his wife Rosalva, his mother Celia, his 8 siblings Maria Luisa, Martha, Francisco, Fortunato, Silvia, Alejandro, Isabelle, Nefi, his children Darlene, Iliana, Erika, Aaron, Jared, Michael, 12 grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. We are all grateful for the plan of salvation and the knowledge that we will see him again"\n\nFamily, friends and those whose lives Ezequiel touched are invited to a funeral service that will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 11:00am at the Nelson Family Mortuary at 4780 North University Avenue, Provo, Utah 84604.
