Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Edmund Ryan Merrill Lunnen\n\n\r\n\t\t\t\tEdmund Ryan Merrill Lunnen was born June 10, 1977 to Melodie Merrill and Robert M. Lunnen. Ed grew up in Sandy, Utah and graduated from Skyline H.S. He passed away on May 8, 2017 after a courageous battle with colon cancer.\n\nEd fulfilled his dream of playing pro beach volleyball for the AVP. He was one of the top beach volleyball players in the nation, and a beloved AVP member. As stated by his friend, Jake Gibb, “Ed was a man of integrity and changed every life he touched for the better.”\n\nHe was preceded in death by his dad, Bob Lunnen and sisters Lisa Apgood and Doree Lunnen. He is survived by his mother, Melodie Tahbo, siblings; Angie (Daniel) Montgomery, Steven (Yvonne) Feld, Georgia (Boyd) Perry, Donna (Craig) Coulson, Lindy (Bruce) Brown, Robert (Valerie) Lunnen, Teresa (John) Stokes and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.\n\nFuneral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N. University Avenue, Provo. There will be a visitation on Friday, May 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary and on Saturday from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, UT.
