Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Duane Garner Loveland\n\n\r\n\t\t\t\tDuane Garner Loveland, age 83, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018 in Provo, Utah.\n\nDuane was loved and will be missed by many. He married his sweetheart, Lois, in 1953 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were married for nearly 65 years and were the grateful parents of nine children; Kathy (Gary) Stapley, DeeAnn Loveland, Verlynn Loveland, Garn (Aura Lee) Loveland, Jana (Mark) Noall, Kristi (Richard) Garner, Craig Loveland, Letia (Dan) Derderian, and Jennifer (Brian) Carpenter. Duane was preceded in death by his son, Verlynn, and his parents Veral and Ione Loveland. Duane and Lois have 40 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.\n\nDuane was the oldest son of Veral and Ione Loveland and was raised in Paul, Idaho with his twin sister Darlene (Keith) Larsen, and brothers, Jerry (Marta), LaMar (Raida) and Ron (Kathy).\n\nDuane earned multiple degrees, the first one through Brigham Young University. Often he would wake his family in the mornings by calling “Rise and shout the cougars are out” (a line from BYU’s fight song).\n\nThe family would like to extend a special thank you to Dad's hospice nurse Marlene Oaks, for the loving care she provided. \n\nA funeral service will be held at the LDS Church located at 2445 N 650 E Provo, Utah on April 28th at 11:00 am. With a visitation prior at 10a.m. Interment: Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, Arizona on May 5th at 10:30 am.\nIn lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local Hospice or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian fund.
