Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t David Huhl Blackhurst\n\n\r\n\t\t\t\tDavid Huhl Blackhurst was born October 27, 1935 at Salt Lake City, Utah, to Edwin William Blackhurst and Esther Huhl. He graduated from East High School, Salt Lake City in 1954. Entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1955 until July 1959. Served a LDS Mission in the Northern States Mission October 1959 to 1961. In March 1962 he married Winnifred (Winkie) Tedesco. They had two girls Klea Michelle and Carrie Nanette. They divorced in 1969. \n\nDavid married Diane Black of Provo, Utah December 13, 1969, solemnized in 1971. David graduated from the University of Utah in 1968, BS Sociology. While attending the University of Utah he was employed as a Police Officer with the Salt Lake City Police Department. He entered the U.S. Secret Service in March of 1969 and retired in January 1995. \n\nHe is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served faithfully in many Priesthood callings including Bishop of the Edgemont 11th Ward Provo, Utah. \n\nDavid and Diane have three children Heather Elizabeth Lambert (Scott), Christina Diane Burt (Aaron) and David Black Blackhurst (Heather Williams). Klea Michelle Blackhurst lives and works in New York City. Carrie Nanette Elliott (Jack Elliott) lives in Rochester, New York. There are ten grandchildren. Gracie Elliott, Molly Elliott, Rose Elliott, Henry Elliott, Lauren Lambert, William Lambert, Camille Lambert, Amanda Burt, Rachel Burt and Sabrina Blackhurst. \n\nFuneral services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11:00a.m. with a viewing prior from 9:30-10:45a.m. in the Edgemont LDS 11th Ward, 3050 N Mojave Lane, Provo. A evening viewing will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N. University Ave. Provo.
