Obituary for \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t Chad K Wood\n\n\r\n\t\t\t\tChad K. Wood, born October 18, 1947, passed away November 15, 2015. Growing up in the small southern Utah town of Circleville, helped him cultivate a particular tough sort of self-reliance. He surrounded himself with books of every genre and had an incredible self-taught knowledge of different cultures. This helped develop his inherent love of those born of different backgrounds, including service as a missionary to Tonga. He was tough and strong - a cowboy. He was as comfortable on a horse as holding a newborn grandchild. \n\nIn his early years, Chad shared his vocal talents and toured with the BYU performance group now called Living Legends. He played 'real' football- BYU Rugby. Chad graduated from Brigham Young University. He was a jet pilot in the US Navy. Chad loved gold mining-the exploring and the journey. On one of his explorations, he brought back a tiny little girl from a Romanian orphanage and named her Olivia. In his later years, he loved caring for the Provo Tabernacle. \n\nChad is preceded in death by father Karlie Wood, mother Eva King Wood Andersen and grandchild Noah Ketcher Wood. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly Ketcher Wood, children Chad (Yanabah), Elisabeth (Dale) Green, Rebekah (Chris) Barlow, Kade, and Olivia, sisters Marsha Brant and Stephanie Young, and 11 grandchildren. \n\nFuneral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N. University Avenue, Provo, UT. There will be a viewing from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery.\n\nThe family would like to thank Joylyn from Elevation Hospice for her loving care and support.
