Carol Bonnett

–

Provo, Utah

Carol Lind Taylor Bonnett our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the age of 93.

Carol was born November 20, 1932 in Provo, Utah to John “Bun” and Alta Taylor. She graduated from Provo High School, where she was a member of the Sub-Debs and acted as a cheerleader. Carol found the love of her life Bud Bonnett and built a beautiful life filled with faith, love, adventure, laughter, and family. The two were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 24, 1952. Together, they were blessed with five children, who were the center of their world and a constant source of pride and joy.

Carol was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in Stake and Ward callings, in the Relief Society and Young Women’s for many years. Her faith was an important part of who she was and guided the way she loved and cared for those around her. She lived her beliefs through her devotion to her family and her service to others. Carol cherished the time she and Bud were able to serve as full time missionaries at the Provo MTC International office.

Family was everything to Carol. She loved holidays paired with family gatherings and had a special talent for making every occasion memorable. She didn’t simply celebrate—she made everything fancy. From the way she decorated and entertained, to the way she dressed. Carol brought beauty and elegance to everything she touched. Carol was a true style icon. She was always impeccably dressed, and loved beautiful and fancy jewelry. Having an extraordinary sense of style. Carol always had a way of making even an ordinary day feel special. And, of course, a Diet Coke was never far away.

Carol was talented in so many ways. She seemed to be capable of doing anything she tried, approaching life with creativity, determination, and a willingness to learn. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working at both B & H Pharmacy and the BYU Health Center where she found fulfillment in her work and in the people she met along the way. She and Bud had the opportunity to travel during his time working at the Provo City Power and she delighted in all of the new places they discovered. Carol had a love for sports, with football being one of her favorites, and any sport being played by BYU. Watching all the games was one of her favorite pastimes. Carol loved an adventure and the outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spent countless hours every summer making sure the annual boating trips to Lake Powell and Flaming Gorge always happened. Carol not only enjoyed watching sports but also loved to play golf.

Perhaps what made Carol the most special was her ability to make everything—and everyone—feel so loved. Carol will be remembered for her beautiful faith, her love for her husband Bud, always being impeccably dressed, her love for family holiday traditions, and her devotion to her children and grandchildren.

Her life was a gift to all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, family, love, and style will live on through her children, grandchildren, and generations to come. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Bun and Alta Taylor, her brother Mark Taylor, and her loving husband Bud. We are confident she had a joyous reunion with him, after 23 long years apart. She is survived by her siblings John Taylor (Sylvia), Alaine Hattaway (Jack) and Teresa Miller(Craig). Also by her children, Jon ”Bud” (Delaina); Joseph T. (Jean); David C. (Lani); James R. (Denise); and Clarissa (Daniel) Christiansen; along with 22 grandchildren and many loved great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Provo City Cemetery.
