Brandon Rodney Patterson, loving father, grandfather, brother, son and uncle, unexpectedly passed away at home, on May 18th, 2023. \n\nBrandon grew up in Orem, Utah, where he graduated from Mountain View High School in 1992. He lettered in football and wrestling. He then went on to rodeo where he rode bulls. He married Andrea Fry Patterson on June 19th, 1998, 1 year after they had their oldest son, Boudey. From there on, they shared 4 wonderful children together, Bailey Lillian, Alexandra Martha, and Whitley Lyle. In 2012, Brandon and Andrea divorced but remained close friends until the date of his death in 2023.\n\nHe had many hobbies. One of which, he was very proud of, and loved to brag about. He was a MAJOR history buff. You could always find him watching war documentaries, reading books on previous wars, especially WW2. He loved to collect hats. Anytime, anyone went out of state, or somewhere cool, all he requested was a hat, or a shot glass, as he actively collected those too. \n\nDad had a career of being a truck driver, which he did for 12+ years. He loved being in the semi. He drove over the road, and missed a lot of things, but did it to make sure the family had food, clothes, and a home. He then switched to driving local, so he could be at home every night and wouldn't miss out on anything from that point on. After sustaining a back injury from one of his trucks, he found himself a job driving, what he called a half truck, spotting trailers in a yard and moving them to the dock doors to be loaded/unloaded. \n\nWe dont know how he did it, but he would always make time for people. He took pride in coaching his oldest, Boudey, and his youngest, Whitley, in baseball as their assistant coaches. He always had advice on a life lesson that he learned from his mom, Patricia, that he would continue to pass down the family tree for generations to come. He was a big, soft teddy bear as some would say. The kind to give you the shirt off his back, even if he also needed it. He had many passions, but what meant most to him, was his family. His 4 children, and his 5 grandchildren, and 1 great nephew, whom he loved with all of his heart.\n\nBrandon is survived by his 4 children, Boudey, Bailey, Alexandra (Lexie), and Whitley, his sister, Melissa, Niece, Cassi, Great Nephew, Gene, Father, Rod, and step-mom, Vickie. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Patricia, his nephew, Blake, brother in-law, Brett, and his father in-law, Lyle.\n\nDad, from all of us, you will be missed greatly, and we will meet again. The funeral will take place at Nelson Family Mortuary on May 30, 2023, with viewing starting at 10am, followed by funeral at 11am, with graveside services starting at 12:30. Close family and friends are invited to Brandon's sister, Melissa's for a lunch-in.
