He did well for seven days and was expected to grow and mature for many weeks before being brought home. On his eighth day, he contracted necrotizing enterocolitis and died in the presence of his loving parents.\n\nBenjamin was a prayed-for and much-welcomed baby who brought incredible joy to his family in his short life. Cole and Emily are grateful for the 8 days they had with him, if only in the NICU of the hospital. Every minute of the limited time they spent with him is a priceless memory. They are grateful for their eternal family, made possible through Jesus Christ and the sealing ordinance in His temple that binds families together forever.\n\nBenjamin is survived by his parents Cole and Emily (Buxton) Lewis and his brother and sister, four-year-old twins, Rex and Eve. He is also survived by his great-grandmother Charlotte Lewis of Cowley, Wyoming; grandparents Rex and Catherine Lewis of Las Vegas, Nevada; and grandparents David and Becky Buxton of Orem, Utah. Benjamin is survived by eight uncles, six aunts, and fifteen cousins.\n\nHis funeral service will be Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N. University Avenue, Provo, Utah, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. \n\nHis graveside service and interment at the Provo City Cemetery will follow the funeral.
