Amenoel Kaouk passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026. His family surrounded him with loving care.
Amenoel was born December 24, 1940 in Aleppo, Syria during the war.
His family consists of several nationalities allowing him to learn and speak many languages.
Amenoel at age 14 was sent to the family farm in Lebanon to manage the operations and workers. While there he learned to repair the big and small farm equipment.
Age 17 Amenoel left on a ship to go to Venezuela to a country he did not know the culture or the language. He left with not much money. He not only mastered the language but he built successful businesses. His first job he went door to door selling one item at a time until he made enough to start a bigger business.
While in Venezuela he helped and let many of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ missionaries stay in his home. Many of them became lifelong friends
Amenoel started Hollywood Suits in California then moved the store to Provo Utah. At the suit store he developed his talent as an excellent tailor. He loved working and talking with his customers. Many became his friends. He especially loved to help the missionaries get ready with their clothing needs. It wasn’t uncommon for him to deliver suits to the missionaries in the Provo Missionary Training Center.
Amenoel loved his family. He had his granddaughters over for hot dog days once a week to spend some fun happy times with them – even though he himself did not like hot dogs. Most of Amenoel’s big smiles and happy times were when he spent time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. If you went out to dinner with him -- he almost always chose the Pie Pizzeria in Midvale.
You can compare Amenoel to a dipped cone from Dairy Queen. Once you got past the hard shell, he was soft and sweet on the inside. He loved Dairy Queen vanilla ice cream with chocolate or strawberries on top.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Yousef and Zakieh Kaouk, Gladys Montes, his sons’ mother, and Brittany Lofthouse, Ann's granddaughter.
Amenoel is survived by his sons, Jon (Heidi) and Emmanuel (Zeina) Kaouk, his grandchildren; Andrew, Angelina, Summer, Alyssa (Jason) Kohl, Breanna (Parker) Beardall, Kaitlin (Logan) Bandoli, and their families, which include his great-grandchildren, Paisley Beardall and Layla and Winnie Bandoli. He also leaves behind his significant other, Ann Johnson, and her daughter Cyndie (Jared) Lofthouse.
His family would like to thank the Utah Valley Hospital staff and Symbii Home Health and Hospice for the kindness they showed Amenoel and his family.
In remembering Amenoel, we celebrate a life lived in full measure, a man of ambition, dedication, intelligence, and talent. His legacy will continue to inspire those he left behind. We encourage friends and family to share their memories and upload photos of Amenoel to his memorial page, preserving the essence of a life truly well-lived.
