Obituary for Robert Warnick
Robert Fred Warnick passed away 14 April 2017 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He was born 26 November 1928 in Provo, Utah to F. Leland and Victoria Warnick. He grew up in Salt Lake City. He married Beth Martin 14 August 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served in the US Army from 1950 to 1952. On his return to Salt Lake he attended the University of Utah and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His first employment following graduation was in Richland, Washington at the Hanford Nuclear Facility. His career in nuclear power took him to Atlanta GA, Arvada CO, Washington DC, Wheaton IL, Glen Rose TX and Boulder CO. During this time he and Beth raised five children, always had a large garden, grew grapes for Welch’s, and were very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as bishop in Pasco, Washington and Wheaton, Illinois.
After retirement they moved to Draper, Utah where they both served in the Jordan River Temple and then served a mission in the Salt Lake City South Mission. In 2007 they moved to Klamath Falls. They served in the Medford Temple. Bob enjoyed volunteering in the SMART reading program at Henley Elementary.
Bob is survived by his wife, Beth and their five children; Leland (Kim) Richmond VA, David (Linnie) Tucson AZ, Anne Mortenson (Lynn) Klamath Falls OR, Mark (Sherri) Ft. Worth TX, Gail Gillie (Doran) Montgomery AL, 24 grandchildren, and 52 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Ruth (Don) Whipperman St. George UT.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 N University Avenue, Provo, UT, at 1:00 pm. Viewing 11:30 – 12:45. Interment at Provo City Cemetery following the funeral.
